The Monteiths Wild and Fiery Food Festival is GO for Easter Sunday April 24th, so thats 2 good reasons to get up to the beautiful HOKIANGA!! Both will have chilli eating comps so get up here for some a bit of burntime!
Monteith's Wild & Fiery Food Festival - to be celebrated on the shores of the Hokianga Harbour, Northland on 24 April, 2011 (Easter Sunday) - is thought to be the first New Zealand festival with a combination of this kind.
Local wild foods tinged with hot chilli flavours will give visitors the chance to taste "the wildness of the west coast" and sample some of the best chillies in the country - which organisers reckon will be a hot favourite with tourists as well as locals.
The festival will take place on the waterfront at Omapere, a little country town that sits at the mouth of the Hokianga Harbour on 24 April.
