Holly & the Ivy Chutney Review
Holly & the Ivy Scotch Bonnet & Smoked Garlic chutney is just one of the many special preserves available from the Midlands-based producer. This is a small family business, set up in late 2004 to produce non volume production of specialised Chutneys, Flavoured Oils, Vinegars, Curds, Mustards And Preserves.
The Scotch bonnet & smoked garlic preserve is a tasty treat uses the Scotch Bonnet Chilli, a West Indies favourite, to bring the fire. The smoked garlic in the chutney provides a sweet-yet-savoury finish to the palate. An excellent table-mate, suitable for a wide variety of meals, due to its fruity, but savoury nature.
We tried this hot-stuff as a condiment with a Jamaican sweet potato curry, which worked perfectly. And yet, this chutney worked equally well on a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch.
Whilst maybe a little hot for the inexperienced, the Scotch bonnet & garlic chutney is a beautiful everyday addition for the chilli lover.
